Light bulb moment

I bought a five year diary.
Why did I do this? Simple. Every single day I write my novel, I finish that day with a 3 line comment in my five year diary. The first line describes what I am doing, outlining, character development, world building etc. The second line is for a new word I have learnt, and the bottom line includes the word count of what I have written.
These three lines are actually starting to help. They help me to have a daily goal, and this goal keeps me writing.
And next year I can look at my process, see what happened and repeat, review, and even change it so that I can write more efficiently.

Why not have a bash yourself, I’m surprised how easy this habit was to create, especially since I keep it on my bedside table, so it becomes the last thing I do before I go to sleep.

Have fun writing
JT
